The product line originating from chlorine production is one of the most extensively used chemical base- and auxiliary materials, the application area thereof includes the alumina-, food and pharmaceutical industries. The production capacity of sodium hydroxide solution considered as the core product – commonly known as lye – is nearly 300,000 tons/year, which is based on a modern membrane-cell technology in addition to the traditional mercury-pool cathode process. Its major market area is Central and Southeast Europe besides the domestic market. Our synthetic hydrochloric acid solutions are primarily used in the food- and pharmaceutical industries. By virtue of the dynamic demand growth for water treatment agents, there is an increasing need for our by-products as well. The sodium hypochlorite solution or hypo is the most significant raw material of the household chemical industry and the demand for it grows year by year.
