PVC is one of the most widely used plastic materials in our modern age. By mixing in various additives excellent properties – durability, flame and abrasion resistance, water resistance, good processability, plasticity and easy maintenance – make PVC suitable for application in the most diverse areas. PVC – as one of the company’s most important products – is applied in the most different areas from the construction industry through the packaging and furniture industries. PVC resin is one of the company’s most important core products generated in the course of a suspension procedure since the 1960s. Its production capacity reached 400,000 tons/year, which represents a significant plant size even on an international scale.
Under the trademark ONGROVIL, PVC resins are used in rigid and plasticised processing, primarily in the production of films, sheets, pipes and profiles, but several consumer goods are also produced from them. The company produces four types under the trademark Ongrovil: S-5258, S-5064, S-5167 and S-5070 as well as a modified PVC resin called Ongrovil SH-600.
Ongrovil SH-600 is an in-house developed, vinyl-chloride based PVC homo-polymer with high molar weight, the major features thereof – elastic behaviour, excellent oil-, chemical- and weather resistance as well as easy processability – render possible to apply it as a thermoplastic elastomer.
